The historical capital of the Silla Kingdom, Gyeongju has long been a favorite travel destination thanks to its rich cultural heritage, including ancient ruins, magnificent temples and splendid gardens.

And now, it has a bit of contemporary cool, too.

In Gyeongju's Hwangnam-dong district, the birthplace of the city's famous "Hwangnamppang" pastries, young creatives have transformed an old low-rise neighborhood next to the landmark Daereungwon tomb complex into one of southeast Korea's hippest spots. They've renovated many of the area's homes, transforming them into increasingly trendy cafes, restaurants and shops. It's an exceptionally pleasant place to spend the day with a youthful vibe that sets it apart from the rest of Gyeongju.

Cost of the excursion is W110,000 for members and W132,000 for non-members. We will travel to Gyeongju by KTX. We will depart Seoul Station at 8:00 a.m. and arrive in Shin-Gyeongju Station at 10:00 a.m. To return to Seoul, we will take the 5:56 p.m. KTX from Shin-Gyeongju Station, which arrives at Seoul Station at 8:00 p.m.

We will meet at 7:30 a.m. Please be on time!
